An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Claydon High School as an Assistant Student Manager, on maternity cover, working within a strong and supportive team.
The role will focus on working with students and parent/carers to ensure there is a positive climate in school for learning to take place. It incorporates investigating behaviour matters, supporting students both individually and in small group work, overseeing the isolation area when required, running school detentions and assisting with administration related to student standards data.
We are looking for a confident, committed and flexible individual with good communication skills. Ideally the successful candidate will have some relevant experience of working with young people aged 11-16 in an educational setting and have good ICT skills to support learners.
Claydon High School is a popular, oversubscribed and friendly comprehensive school on the outskirts of Ipswich; we are situated close to the A14 with easy transport links across Suffolk and into Essex. We are a small school with 773 students on roll which means that there is a close working relationship with all the staff and students in the school. As part of the Penrose Learning Trust we also work closely with other schools within the MAT to achieve “excellence through collaboration”.
If you would like to have a chat about the post or visit the school please contact Sue Perrotton, the Head’s PA, at the school.
Closing date: Midday Wednesday 7th January 2026
Interview date: w/c 12th January 2026
Penrose Learning Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to provide references, undergo employment checks and an enhanced disclosure via the DBS.
