Claydon Primary School, situated very close to Ipswich, is a friendly, positive school with committed and supportive staff who want our pupils to be the best they can be in all that they do.

We pride ourselves on working together to offer the best possible learning opportunities for all our pupils through a curriculum that engages and excites all learners.  We are a ‘good’ school with a Leadership Team that has an ambitious vision for the school to ensure all pupils receive the best education possible and leave with the skillset to thrive in High School and beyond.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives on working collaboratively, has a positive outlook and is passionate about supporting children to achieve their very best.

The role will involve working alongside teachers and other staff to support pupils across the school, including whole-class, small-group and individual support. As part of the role, the successful candidate will work with children with a range of additional needs, as well as supporting pupils more broadly within the classroom and wider school environment.

The successful applicant will ideally have experience working with children in a school setting and a good understanding of how to support pupils with differing learning and developmental needs. The role offers an excellent opportunity to build on existing knowledge and skills whilst flourishing in a progressive and caring school, including access to a range of professional development opportunities.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is motivated and dedicated to supporting children to achieve their full potential.
  • Is able to support pupils on a 1:1 basis, in small groups and within the wider classroom environment (potentially including personal care if required).
  • Is energetic, enthusiastic, flexible and solution-focused, with a nurturing approach.
  • Can consistently demonstrate the confidence and ability to manage and support children positively and effectively.
  • Has sound maths and literacy skills (GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths is essential), additional relevant qualifications such as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Has experience of working with children in a learning environment and an understanding of how to support pupils with a range of learning needs, including SEND.
  • Is able to use initiative, work as part of a team and maintain a good sense of humour.
  • Is an excellent communicator who is creative, adaptable and passionate about helping children be the best they can be.
  • Is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where all children feel valued, supported and able to succeed.

In return we can offer:

  • A committed, supportive, hard-working team
  • A friendly, proud school community, with enthusiastic, happy children.
  • An ongoing commitment to learning for all
  • Personalised professional development opportunities which will serve to support future goals and dreams.
