An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Claydon High School as a Science Technician, working within a strong and supportive team. The post will involve preparing and maintaining resources for teaching staff within the Science Department under the direction of the Senior Science Technician. Other duties may include technical assistance in class when required.
We are looking for a confident and committed individual with good communication and organisational skills. Ideally the successful candidate will have some relevant scientific background and be able to provide some administrative support to departmental staff. This post would be suitable for someone with experience of working in a school, someone interested in joining a school environment with thoughts about becoming a teacher or LSA or someone wishing to put their Science skills into practice. Visitors and prospective colleagues often comment on the warm welcome they receive here and we invite you to come and experience this for yourself.
Claydon High School is a popular, oversubscribed and friendly comprehensive school on the outskirts of Ipswich; we are situated close to the A14 with easy transport links across Suffolk and into Essex. We are a small school with 770 students on roll which means that there is a close working relationship with all the staff and students in the school. As part of the Penrose Learning Trust we also work closely with other schools within the MAT to achieve “excellence through collaboration”.
If you would like to have a chat about the post or visit the school please contact Abbi Driver or Alison Bateman, Joint Heads of Science Faculty (adriver@claydonhigh.com or abateman@claydonhigh.com).
Closing date: Midday Wednesday 15th January 2025
