Art & Technology Technician - Colchester Academy

Permanent Contract

Required from September 2026

Scale 3 Point 4 - 5

Starting Salary: £21,120 (actual per annum)

Hours of work: 36 hours a week/ 38 weeks a year (term time only)

Working Pattern: Mon – Thurs 8:15 am – 4:15 pm, Fri 8:15 am – 2:45 pm with a daily 30 min unpaid break

Colchester Academy is a thriving secondary school, looking to appoint an Art and Technology Technician to support the Technology Department by preparing equipment and assisting in lessons. The appointment is term time only, 38 weeks per year, 36 hours per week.

The Art and Technology faculty at Colchester Academy is an exciting and creative place to work, offering Art, Photography, Food Technology, Graphics and a range of practical technical subjects across KS3 and KS4.

This position would suit anyone wanting to gain experience in a school environment, perhaps wanting to pursue a career in teaching in the future. Equally, an applicant for this role may have previously worked in education or in a career around Art or Technology.
